# Social

Analyze YouTube citations, creators, and brand presence in tracked AI answers.

Open **Insights → Offsite → Social** to see which YouTube videos and creators appear in answers to your tracked prompts. Compare your brand with competitors, then use the cited videos to identify topics and creators to investigate.

## Core Metrics

### YouTube Citation Share

YouTube citations divided by all tracked citations for the selected filters. The overview time series shows how that share changes over time.

### YouTube Citations

The number of times tracked AI answers cite YouTube content. These are citations captured from AI answers, not YouTube views or a count of every video about your brand.

## Compare Brand Presence

Switch the competitor comparison between:

* **Presence rate:** The percentage of analyzed, cited YouTube URLs whose content mentions your brand or a competitor. Each URL counts once in this comparison.
* **Citation share:** A brand's own-domain citations as a share of all citations in AI answers that include at least one YouTube citation.

AirOps analyzes video descriptions and top comments for brand mentions. It does not ingest video transcripts for this analysis. A brand can have a high presence rate because other creators mention it, even when none of its own videos appears in the top-video list.

## Leaderboards

### Top Cited Channels

Review the YouTube channels behind cited videos. Channel shares and the channel time series use YouTube citations as their denominator, while the overview uses all tracked citations.

### Top Cited Videos

Review individual videos with their citation counts and share of YouTube citations. Open a cited video to inspect the source and its available metadata. Metadata can be incomplete while collection is pending or when a source cannot be retrieved.

## Charts

The **Mention rate in AI answers citing content** chart compares how often AI answers that cite YouTube mention your brand and competitors. The **Sentiment Score** chart describes how those answers portray each brand.

These answer-level charts measure the AI response. Presence rate measures mentions within the cited content.

### Mention rate by video attributes

Use **Brand Placement** to compare answer-level mention rates when your brand appears in a cited video's title, description, both, or neither. **Sponsorship Disclosure** groups results by the video's recorded disclosure status.

The Brand Placement comparison excludes prompts that name tracked brands. These charts measure whether the AI answer mentions a brand, grouped by metadata from the videos it cites. A title or description mention is not itself an answer-level mention, and an undisclosed or unknown sponsorship status does not prove that a video is unsponsored.

### YouTube citations by AI platform

Use the platform chart to switch between:

* **Citation share:** YouTube citations divided by all citations from that AI platform.
* **Citation rate:** Answers containing at least one YouTube citation divided by all tracked answers from that AI platform.

Hover over a bar to see the numerator and denominator. The chart uses the current date range and Insights filters.

### YouTube Citation Breakdown

Use the breakdown chart to compare the percentage of YouTube citations by **Duration**, **Form**, **Sponsorship**, **Video age**, or channel **Subscriber count**. Each percentage uses YouTube citations within the selected filters as its denominator.

Missing metadata can appear as **Unknown**. Sponsorship groups distinguish disclosed sponsorship from citations with no sponsorship signal or unknown status; the latter does not prove a video is unsponsored.

## Filters

Choose a date range and use **Topic**, **Prompt Intent**, and **Platform** to focus the analysis. Keep the same filters when comparing brands or dates.

For example, filter to Evaluation prompts on ChatGPT, identify the most-cited videos, and compare which brands those videos mention before planning a new video or creator partnership.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.airops.com/insights/offsite/social.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
