# Prompt Change Log

Review changes to tracked prompts and use chart annotations to interpret visibility trends.

The Prompt Change Log records updates to your tracked prompt set, including who made each change. Use it when a visibility trend shifts and you need to check whether the prompts or their tracking assignments changed at the same time.

## How to Use the Change Log

1. Open **Insights → Settings → Prompt Change Log**.
2. Select the date range you want to review.
3. Search for a prompt or filter by **Action**, **Topic**, or **Editor**.
4. Use **Group by** to organize changes by **Date**, **Action**, **Topic**, or **Prompt**.
5. Expand a group to review its changes and assignment details.

## Visibility Chart Annotations

Visibility trend charts include annotations for changes to the tracked prompt set. Use them alongside the log to distinguish a change in what you track from a change in how AI answers describe your brand.

For example, if Share of Voice drops after you add prompts from a new topic, inspect the additions and assignments before interpreting the drop as a change across your previous prompt set. A nearby annotation provides context; it does not establish what caused the metric to move.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.airops.com/insights/analytics/settings/prompt-change-log.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
