# Dashboards

Custom Dashboards are available in Insights. Use them to turn AI search data into a focused view of the metrics your team reviews regularly.

## How to Configure a Dashboard

1. Open **Insights → Analytics → Dashboards** and create a dashboard.
2. Add a chart or data table block.
3. Choose the metric and breakdown for the block.
4. Set the filters, date range, and time granularity for the report.

Use a name that reflects the dashboard's audience or reporting goal.

## Block Types

| Block          | Use it to                         |
| -------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Chart** | Visualize changes and comparisons |
| **Data table** | Review detailed results |

## Choose Metrics and Breakdowns

Configure each block with an AI search metric, such as:

* Citation Rate
* Mention Rate
* Share of Voice

You can break results down by dimensions including:

* Competitor
* Platform
* Region
* Persona
* Topic

For example, use a chart to compare Share of Voice by competitor or a data table to review citation rate by topic.

## Set the Reporting Scope

Use filters to focus the dashboard on the slice of data you want to analyze. Set the date range and choose the time granularity that best fits the reporting period. Filters can narrow the dashboard by the same dimensions used for breakdowns, including platform, region, persona, and topic.

Use a consistent date range, granularity, and filter set when comparing results over time.

## Examples

* Compare Share of Voice by competitor for a selected region.
* Review Citation Rate by topic for a specific platform and date range.
* Track Mention Rate by persona at the time granularity used in your regular report.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.airops.com/insights/analytics/dashboards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
